To your point of “I feel this is geared more towards big business…” I don’t think I agree. Of course that could be because when I first read Purple Cow I listened to the audio version which comes packaged together with another Seth book “Free Prize Inside”. I feel that FPI sharpened the lens of Purple Cow a bit to show how the message of “be remarkable” can practically apply to small business. I would recommend checking it out.

Purple Cow isn’t his best book but I still highly recommend reading Seth Godin. He has about 10 books that he has written and some of them are really helpful. I recommend reading “Pushing Past the Dip”. It is mostly inspirational but definitely worth your time.

I felt similarly after reading this book a few months back. I’ve found that there is a good number of people that are starting up a new venture that really think their idea alone is going to a hit, and I think this book serves as a reality smack in the face for those people, that they need more than a great idea or even “just” a great product.
