One of the most common questions asked by merchants is how to choose a payment gateway. Most people have heard about Authorize.net and Paypal, but what is the best for you and your clients? Is it ok to have just one payment option, or should you offer 2, 3 or more choices?
A payment gateway is a company that processes your credit card orders from your shopping cart and sends the money to your account. It’s important to decide which gateway to use because each have their own pros, cons and hoops you have to jump through in order to use them.

Hey Amber. Just stumbled upon your site and I really like it. I am working my way all the way from your last to first posts (there goes my productivity today!!:)…
So here is my question. Do you Personally use a cart package (Magento, Shopify, etc..) or do you code a cart then add a gateway (Corecommerce)? I have never done online sales before, but have a client that wants one so i am looking at best options. If you have used both, which do you prefer?

CoreCommerce is actually a cart framework, like Magento or shopify it isn’t an actual gateway. They’re the only eCommerce framework I use
