Event Registration Online for Going Freelance Workshop

I’ve been working with a lot of people who’ve been wanting to go freelance – but they all worry about the same thing: money. Money is a scary thing for people, especially when you start getting paid multiple times a day, in amounts big and small.

I’ve decided to offer a new workshop, held here at my flat in London. There are 5 tickets available only – but don’t worry, if this ends up being a popular thing, I’ll open up more workshops in the future.

Some of the topics:

  • Dealing with irregular income & setting up a budget
  • Creating invoices, estimates and getting paid
  • Tools for tracking these items
  • Pros and cons of hourly, daily or project rates

I’ll make us some yummy lunch and munchies, as well as offer tea, coffee and drinks!

You can buy tickets and learn more at Eventbright and follow the event on Lanyrd.

  1. Awesome idea Amber! If you ever decide to do this over video conference let me know, would be interested.

    Good luck.

  2. Hi Amber, You should advertise it on the StartUp Britain events page http://www.startupbritain.org/calendar/ (it is free and will reach a large community) Also, if you get good interest (which I am sure you will) I may well be able to help you with a free venue in Central London. 3. Very good idea Amber. I would like to be in London to participate. But if you did that by video conference let me know to. It’d be awesome.

Hi Amber, I just have a question I’d really like to ask. When you’ve agreed the terms of a project with the client, do you have to get them to sign a contract? And what should the terms be like? Or what’s the standard procedure? Or is this what you meant by “Creating invoices”? Thanks! :)

    • John says:

Hey Hassanin: I think it’s more of a simple process of just breaking the legs of your client(s) with a baseball bat if they don’t pay up, just to sort of “send them the message”.

I sooooo wish I could come! If it’s a success, maybe a future webinar or podcast? Please?! ;-D

  6. Oh, I would absolutely LOVE to come, and I’ll actually be in London in a few weeks for a conference with my husband’s work! Any chance you’ll hold another workshop on the 31st of March??? :)

  7. KC White says:

You gotta record it and do a webinar or something. No fair. :-) ~ I would totally fly to London if I had the time and the money.

Btw, I’m SO happy for you on the new move to the UK.
