They were usually the individuals who wanted Facebook in three days for $150. I would try my best to inform them of the situation, the constraints of their budget, and what goes into making such a site (more like a web application). Sometimes they'd act as though they were seeing the light. Then I'd do what I could to give them something nice for that little, and that soon. Sometimes they still expected miracles. And when I didn't part a sea they would usually not pay the remaining invoice and then tell others I was a bad designer/developer. I've learned to take to heart what a lot of freelancers are voicing out about nowadays; learn to say "no" and learn to pass up on potentially hurtful clients. As for ones that seem entirely fine at first, points like the ones you make here are about all you can do. If you try your best and in the end they're still unreasonable...post it on ClientsFromHell. ;-)

I’ve had too many run-ins like this.
